What the issuer is asking

Mastercard's fraud code. The question is participation, not whether the order was placed.

Where the transaction was authenticated through 3-D Secure, liability normally sits with the issuer — check the authentication result first, because it can end the dispute in one line.

Without authentication, you are proving the cardholder used or received what they bought.

filing window

The cardholder normally has 120 days from the transaction date.

Your processor states its own deadline on the notice, usually shorter than the 45 days above. That printed date is the one that binds you. Work to it.
